Look Out Below!

There’s been a lot of chatter this week about a satellite that is crashing towards the Earth. For those of you unfamiliar, NASA’s UARS satellite has been shutdown since 2005, and is now crashing back to Earth where it will break apart upon reentry into the atmosphere. The pieces could be quite large still, some a couple hundred pounds. As of Friday afternoon, NASA is still unsure as to where it will land, but has not ruled out a North American hit. This would be unlikely however, because the Earth is 70% water.

MSNBC put together a great article on the falling satellite if you’d wish to read more. I’ll try to find some pictures and post them to our Twitter page later, so be on the lookout.
